Data deletion: A user may delete budget data from their library at any time. Deleting a budget removes it from the Research Grant Costing Platform backend.
Data storage and privacy: All budgets created within the Research Grant Costing Platform are stored privately and securely on Base44 servers located in the United States. Base44 is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. User data—including inputs, outputs, and account details (name and email address)—are accessible to ResBench solely to operate the Research Grant Costing Platform and provide research-related communications. ResBench does not share users' data with third parties other than Base44, except as described here. Payments for the Research Grant Costing Platform are processed by Stripe. In order to complete payment, Stripe collects and processes the user's email address and payment information in accordance with Stripe's own terms and conditions and privacy policy. ResBench does not store users' payment details. Emails relating to voucher codes are sent via the platform's built-in email service.
Governing law: The Research Grant Costing Platform's terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms and conditions must be submitted to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
Intellectual property: ResBench does not claim ownership over any user-supplied data or content. ResBench retains ownership of all intellectual property in the Research Grant Costing Platform itself, including the underlying code, system architecture, templates, and any proprietary methods or processes. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Research Grant Costing Platform solely for the purposes described on the landing page. Users also grant ResBench a limited licence to process their data as necessary for the calculator's functionality, without transferring ownership.
Limitation of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResBench excludes all liability for any loss, damage, or consequences arising from the use of the Research Grant Costing Platform. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits users' rights under applicable Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
User responsibility: While ResBench implements industry-standard security and privacy measures, users must not submit any commercially sensitive, confidential, or otherwise private information. ResBench disclaims any liability for loss or disclosure of such information. Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all budget calculations and ensuring compliance with applicable grant guidelines and institutional requirements.
